PUB QUIZ
IS LIFE
In this world premier production of award-winning playwright Richard Bean's Pub Quiz Is Life, Marc played 'Lee', a soldier newly returned from Afghanistan, who joins his ill father's ailing pub quiz team and attempts to whip them into trophy-winning shape.
The Daily Telegraph gave the show four stars and voted it the No.1 piece of regional theatre in the UK.

"...passionate side-swipes...very funny...Marc Bolton's performance as Lee, all buttoned-up intensity, does much to hold it together... briskly imaginative production"
What's On Stage - Ron Simpson
"In one chilling scene Lee puts an
addict out of her misery and considers doing the same to her child. Bolton's
expression doesn't change and it is his hand, holding the gun, that does the
acting. It is fascinating to watch"
The
Times - Jeremy Kingston
* * * * "...uniformly delightful
performances. Marc Bolton's now jobless hard-man Lee...reaches boiling
point"
Daily
Telegraph - Dominic Cavendish
"...the audience laps up every
local reference...sardonic jokes turn even more sour as Marc Bolton's taciturn
Lee goes astray."
Sunday
Times - Jane Edwardes
"...witty and lively and offers
characters rich in both humour and humanity ...a great starter mix that is both
shaken and stired... Marc Bolton's edgy Lee...organises his teamates with
military precision"
The
Observer - Clare Brennan
"...a brilliant, brilliant cast -
all the ingredients were perfect... brilliant touches...Marc Bolton is as
engaging as ever. This is a big show"
Yorkshire
Post - Nick Ahad
"...a sulphurous rant by Bolton's
Lee...outstanding...more put downs than an abattoir...glorious"
York
Press - Charles Hutchinson
"Marc Bolton playes Lee with a
resolute...sustained anger... bristles with belligerent humour and laconic
quips"
The
Stage - Kevin Berry
"...pitch-black comedy...played
with a cold rage by Marc Bolton"
